Pentwater – The Oceana Community Foundation announced the start of their 5th Annual Donation Drive in partnership with the Oceana Migrant Child Task Force.
The Pentwater Women’s Club held their annual Wine & Art fundraising event on May 18, 2025; it’s been happening since 1967. According to the club’s president, Kathy O’Connor, over the years they have raised a total of $210,000, which has been awarded to 235 graduates of Pentwater High School.
Over the seven-day period from May 12 through May 18, 2025, the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 218 calls for service.

LUDINGTON – Several track and field teams in the Oceana County area participated in the Mason, Oceana, and Manistee County (MOM) event May 12.
LUDINGTON – Hart, Shelby, Hesperia, Pentwater and Walkerville competed in the girls events at the Mason, Oceana, Manistee (MOM) track and field event May 12, and Hart’s Addi Hovey again put on a dominant performance.
BRETHREN – It was a good day for the Pentwater track and field teams at the Division 4 regional at Brethren on Saturday, as the Falcons set five new personal records and qualified five athletes for the state finals.
MUSKEGON – Shelby’s Titan Carter finished second and Hesperia’s Nacho Lozano finished eighth individually in the Oakridge Invitational at the Chase Hammond Golf Course May 15.
MESICK – The Pentwater Falcons won the West Michigan D League Golf Championship May 13 as three Falcons fought for first place individually at the Antioch Hills Golf Club, and Mikey Carlson won the individual conference championship.
SHELBY – The weather was cold and windy May 19, affecting each team differently, but it didn’t stop Pentwater from winning the Oceana County Cup and Shelby’s Titan Carter from being the winning medalist in this 18-hole event.
MEARS – Pentwater hosted a golf event that included Bear Lake and Mesick May 6 at the Golden Sands Golf Course.
MANTON – The Pentwater Falcons track and field squad participated in the Manton Ranger Invite May 9 and did well in several events.
PENTWATER – Multi-sport star athlete Mikey Carlson has signed with Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, to further his basketball career May 8.
