SCAM ALERT!
Several of our customers have been receiving responses to their classified ads via TDD (Relay calls for the deaf) and/or emails interested in purchasing their items. The potential buyer asks for personal information, wants to send a cashiers check over and above the asking price, and wants the difference returned to them or sent to another party. Eventually the cashiers check is found out to be fraudulent, the customer is out the extra money sent, and is also responsible for the returning of bad check funds to the bank.
As in all situations similar to this, whether you have placed an ad and get a suspicious response, or you are responding to one, especially Work At Home ads, DO NOT SEND MONEY OR GIVE OUT PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION.
